An excellent book in Chinese and English. It presents papercuts styles sorted by regions and various techniques.

This book is especially compiled for overseas readers. The text and illustrations introduce mainly traditional styles and samples of the folk art of papercutting. A few samples were made during the Qing Dynasty ( 1644 - 1911 ). But we cannot include all the places that are famous for papercutting such as Zigong in Sichuan Province, Hailun in Northeast China. Luliang in Shanxi Province and Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. We cannot either include the works of all the famous artists.

The compiler read a lot of reference material and consulted with many specialists in order to make this book accurate.
