DESCRIPTION:

Practical Chinese for Advanced Course (in Four Volumes) is a set of advanced textbooks intended for foreign students majoring in Chinese Language and Culture. It is one of the programs planned by China's National Office of Chinese Language Teaching.

This set consists of Four Volumes, each containing 10 lessons. The lessons in the first Two Volumes include text, Vocabulary, notes on the text, word studies, synonym comparison, sentence pattern, linguistic studies and exercise. The lessons in the last Two Volumes also include rhetorical and cultural studies.

The texts are all selected from the works of famous modern Chinese writers, with only a few words changed according to teaching needs. The linguistic part emphasizes complex sentence patterns and further explains the use of conjunctions, synonyms, etc.

With the aim of largely improving learners' reading, speaking and writing abilities, while enriching their knowledge of Chinese language and culture, this set of textbooks can serve as a self-study and a classroom teaching aid.
