DESCRIPTION:

This is the twenty-fourth in a series of thirty-four picture books telling the story of Monkey, adapted from the ancient Chinese fantasy novel Journey to the West.

Three Man-eaters on Lion-Camel Mountain, with seventy-two colour illustrations, tells of the four pilgrims' encounter with demons on Lion-Camel Mountain. Monkey gets the demons to take the Tang Priest across the mountain in a sedan chair, but the demons then capture all four of them. Monkey escapes and resuces the others, but as they are climbing the city wall to flee, the demons trap all but Monkey. With the help of the Buddha and two bodhisattvas Monkey subdues the demons and saves his master, Pig and Friar Sand.
