    The song was composed according to the Crying tone of the Qil tune of Shaanxi Province, China. It is orilginally a zheng song, which depicts the love of a woman who has been waiting for her husband away from home. It has been arranged to pipa song that is resonant and rich in the flavour of the Chinese Northwest music. Pipa instrumentalist, Lin Jiamei was born in a musician? family. She was graduated from the Art School and the Central Conservatory of the Pudong School, one of the prominent schools of pipa in China.

    Aka Crying Hills and a Cliff Lament, it is a piece of Chinese Kejia music. Kejia is a clan living near the coast of Guangdong Province. By the end of the southern Song Dynasty (1127-1297), Emperor Zhao Bing was chased to the southern coast of China (now Hong Kong) and finally drowned in the sea. The song expresses a solemn and stirring feeling. Lin Shicheng is one of the most famous pipa soloists in China. When Lin was young, he has learned to play many Chinese instruments such as erhu, sanxian, pipa, yangqin(dulcimer), dizi(flute), xiao(vertical flute) and sheng. He studied under Shen Haochu, a master and the only inheritor of the Pudong School of Pipa. Lin? performance is so outstanding and vivid that he can always bring the audience into the music.

The song is modeled on a Chinese folk song, Eight Beats and orchestrated by the pipa virtuoso, Wang Yuting. The song was divided into seven parts and each part has a subtitle.

Pipa instrumentalist, Lin Jiaqing was graduated from Shanghai Conservatory of Music, China and studied under professors Linshicheng, Sun Yude and Wei Zhongle. He is one of the inheritor of the Pudong School, a leading school of pipa in China.

    The song comes from the Yinzhou Ancient Tune (Yingzhou Gudiao), which came being during the rule of Xianfeng Emperor of the Qing Dynasty (164401911). Pipa soloist, Zhang Qiang has won the second rank prize of the international youth performer in the Beijing ART Cup. His exquisite craftsmanship vividly exhibits the scene that sparrows shutting and singing in the sunset forest in the song.
