  • Autumn Moon on a Waveless Lake -Flute
    Composed by Lu Wencheng
    The song is lively and mellifluous. It is a famous piece of Guangdong local music. The music proceed in the slow-flowing rhythm and it exhibits the tranquility of mind under the bright moonlight. The music is extraordinary as it is played with the low-pitching dizi.
  • Three Variations of Plum Flowers -Flute
    It depicts the scene of plum flowers standing lovely in the snow and swaying gently in the wind. It also praised the people with high ideals and lofty character.
  • Shepherd Girl -Er Hu
    Composed by Gao Yuande
    This melody is rich in the flavour of the Kazak nationality. It outlines the blue sky and white clouds as well as the herd of cattle and sheep. The shepherd girl herds in the graceful grassland.
  • Song of the Horse-head Fiddle -Er Hu
    Arranged by Xia Zhongtang
    The Horse-head Fiddle is an ancient bowed string instrument of the Mongolians. It gets its name from the horse carving along its neck. It has beautiful and deep timbre. The theme of this piece is from one is lento. The second section has lively and merry mood. Free rein has given to the cadenza to express the joyous sentiments. The fourth section is the repetition of the first one.

    The song was composed based on a poem by Li Bai, a great poet of the Tang Dynasty (618-907). It portrays the scenery that partridges are always flying around the palace wall. In the song, the contrast of tempo emphasizes the dreary and desolate atmosphere and makes it more exquisite and lingering. Graduated from the China Conservatory of Music in 1982, Zhang Jiliang studied under professors Feng Zicun, Liu Guanyue and Zhao Songting. He has toured abroad for many times and received great acclaim. Zhang is an expert of changxiao (vertical bamboo-flute), chiba, xun, bawu and other wind instruments of China.

As the rhythm is lilting and full of changes, the four sections of the song are linked up easily and evenly. Besides, the super craftsmanship of the performer makes the music freely expressive. The audience will be touched by the music of depicting the firm pines, which symbolize the unyielding character of the righteous composer. Erhu soloist, Tian Zaili is a lecturer of the Central Conservatory of Music, China. He was honoured the Bronze Award of the Beijing Television folk music competition. He has visited Britain and Hong Kong for performances and received great acclaim.

Jiang inherits the deep, delicate, classic and carefree style of his father. He has toured to Russia, Hungary, Romania, Mongolia, Burma and the United States for performances.
