Zhang Jigui
Zhang Jigui is a famous Guanzi player(Guanzi is a kind of wind instrument) and member of China Musicians Association. He was born in Shanxi province and started to learn playing Guanzi, Sheng and Suona at the age of six. He can play a lot of folk melodies. In 1956, he became a solo player in a professional ensemble.
His performing skill is extremely perfect with beautiful tune and typical style. During his 40-year life of music, he composed many melodies which are well cherished by the people. The Central people? Broadcasting Station and Radio Beijing have recorded for him and made special programs to broadcast to both domestic and foreign audience. He has won many awards for composing and performance at National Theatrical Festivals.
