    This piece of music expresses the sad and miserable life of the ancient women in the feudal court. Teaching at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. Wang Guotong was graduated from the Central Conservatory of Music in China and received training from Chen Zhenfeng and Jiang Fengzhi, who are the directstudents of the renowned ethnomusicologist, Liu Tianhua. At the beginning of the sixties, Wang did some innovations in playing erhuand rose to fame by successfully performing Capriccio of Sanmen Gorge and BAllad of North Henan. His success was considered as a milestone in the history of erhu performance. Wang has toured to over twnety countries in Southeast Asia, Western Europe and South America and received great acclaim.
