Composer for Horror short
Hello,
My name is Simon Gill and I am a student at the London Film Academy in Fulham. I am directing a 10 minute short film entitled “Mo Yin�. My main character Andrew is a music producer and his late Chinese fiancée Sarah plays the erhu. If you can play the erhu and have any interest in film music, please continue reading.

Synopsis:
Mo Yin : A Ghost Story
Unable to cope with the loss of his fiancé, Andrew’s world is in ruins. The only means of escape from the guilt he feels for Sarah’s loss can be found through delaying the mourning period with the aid of strong medication. Until one night, in their apartment, Andrew hears Sarah’s voice calling him. Has Sarah returned to resolve the circumstances surrounding her death? Has she come to relieve Andrew of his pain? Or punish him further?
Character Sketches:
ANDREW, is a man in his late 20’s, thin, scruffy in appearance, with messed up hair and unshaven stubbly face. He has bloodshot eyes and moves around lethargically. He drinks too much wine, takes too many pills and is a workaholic.
SARAH, is Chinese, has long black hair, and has a perfect figure. Her face will be a lot warmer and flesh coloured in the first scenes in the fields but in the final scene her face will be pale white. She is portrayed as a malicious entity by the end of the short and she will be dead before the story begins.
We will be shooting in a flat in the East End of London as well as Richmond Park for two sequences that will represent the Forest Of Suicides from Dante’s Inferno and Virgil’s Mourning fields from the Aeneid.

I chose the erhu as Sarah’s instrument because the sound of the erhu would compliment the whispering ghostly voices that Andrew hears in his flat whilst listening to a CD of Sarah’s music. I imagine Sarah’s music to be very gloomy yet relaxing to listen to. Some works of Jia Peng Fang and Luo Tian Ping are very similar to what I had in mind as I have found that the majority of erhu music has a happy feel to it.
AND SO, TO THE POINT:
Would anyone be interested in composing a track for the CD that Andrew listens to in the film? My knowledge of Chinese folk/classical music is limited to the research I’ve done for the film (and from talking with my writer, Gary Clayton.) I would love the opportunity to hear erhu music and at the same time give someone the opportunity to showcase their works.

IMPORTANT
This is a student production with a minimal budget so we can only offer a nominal fee and (an important) credit as a composer for the short. This is a collaborative project and all the departments will be under the same constraints of the budget. So, just to clarify, this project has nothing to do with getting rich now but expressing art for all involved.

I am a Newbie and would like to know where/how to learn Wushu?
Hey,
I'm rearranging my schedule so I can start taking martial arts again. I took Taekwando and Shodokan when I was a kid and now I'm wanting to take the more traditional style of wushu. I'm not looking for all of the aerobatics and aesthetic things, but more physical/self-defence.
I'm in New York, any places around here that would teach it? Or I wouldn't mind paying a private individual for tutoring. Thanks for your time!
I'm rather bulky (5'10", 240#s) from weight lifting, so I'm hoping this will help me with flexibility, etc.
